Artist Statement
I seek to connect with the world through looking, and to preserve through photography the meanings that arise there.
I feel that there is a slight distance and tension between people and the world.
It exists quietly within everyday light and the atmosphere of the city, usually unnoticed, until it appears in fleeting moments.
When people and the world come into contact, small meanings and subtle displacements emerge.
I want to preserve those moments—the landscapes, presences, and traces that appear within them—through photography.

人と世界のあいだには、わずかな距離や緊張があるように感じている。
それは日常の光や都市の気配のなかで、普段は意識されないままにあり、ふとした瞬間に現れる。
人と世界が触れ合ったとき、そこに小さな意味やずれが生まれる。
私はその瞬間の風景や、人の気配や痕跡を、写真として残したいと考えている。
