Artist Statement
By looking, I seek to form a relationship with the world; by photographing, I try to preserve the meanings that emerge there.
I feel that between people and the world, there are subtle distances and tensions, usually unnoticed within everyday light and the atmosphere of the city.
Yet at certain moments, their contours quietly come into view. I am drawn to those moments when the distance within familiar reality shifts ever so slightly.
Through photography, I want to preserve the quietness, tension, traces, and presence that arise when people and the world come into contact.

私は、見ることで世界と関係を結び、撮ることでそこに生まれる意味を残そうとしている。
人と世界のあいだには、わずかな距離や張力があり、それらは日常の光や都市の気配のなかで、普段は意識されないまま存在している。
けれど、ふとした瞬間にその輪郭が立ち上がることがある。私はそうした見慣れた現実との距離がわずかにずれる瞬間に惹かれている。
人と世界が触れ合うときに生まれる静けさや張力、気配や痕跡を、写真として残したいと考えている。
