The layers of memory that extend from the past to the present—

they are what shape my sense of self.

Photography is a means of projecting the emotions embedded in those memories,

and through that projection, I confirm: I am here.

So then, what holds those memories together?

It is the posture of trust—

a quiet belief in the world.

That trust was passed down to me

by those who, at some point in my life,

chose to believe in me.

And that is why,

there is a gentleness in my photographs—

a will to connect with the world.
